Google Chrome is a free browser developed by Google Inc, which is fast and easy to use, keeping safe on the web. It ‘is currently available for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista.

- Click Download Google Chrome. Download the installation file from this location means that be able to get updates, security updates and access to all Google Chrome features.
- Review and go through the “Terms of Service“, then click “Accept and Install” to continue. You can subscribe to send crash reports of Google’s browser and send statistics how many times you use Google Chrome features, checking the box to the bottom. Google Chrome will not send any personal information, such as name, email address, Google account information or passwords.
- After installation, the “Welcome to Google Chrome” dialog box. Click the Start Google Chrome just to complete the default installation or click Custom settings to customize the installation and settings.
Default installation options
If you click Start Google Chrome, the browser will finish installing automatically importing your bookmarks, home page, browsing history and saved passwords from the current default browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer). It also adds a Google Chrome shortcuts to the Start menu, Desktop and Quick Launch bar on your PC.
You can stop the import process at any time by clicking Stop Import. You can always import the information into the browser a second time in the future.
Custom installation options
You can also customize how Google Chrome imports information from other web browsers and how Google Chrome shortcuts should be created. You can also choose whether you want to make Google Chrome the default browser.
- If you do not want to import browser information, at this point, clear the ‘Import settings from’ checkbox.
- If you want to import then import the information from another browser, select ‘Import settings from’ check box and use the drop-down menu to choose between Internet Explorer and Firefox. Google Chrome is currently able to import from other browsers, except Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Default Browser
- The ‘Make Google Chrome the default browser’ is selected automatically. If you want to use another browser to open links fromBy default, clear the check box selected, otherwise leave.
Shortcuts
- The launch of Google Chrome icons from different parts of the PC can be created and saved on your desktop, Start Menu and Quick Launch. Clear all check boxes for places where you do not want to include links. Once you have finished customizing the installation process and options, click OK.
